Jammu, May 13 -- NEW DELHI, May 13 - Girls have once again outperformed boys in the CBSE Class 12 board examinations, securing a pass percentage of 91.64%, over five percentage points higher than boys' 85.70%, the board's Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj announced on Tuesday.

The overall pass percentage this year stands at 88.39%, a slight improvement over last year's 87.98%. A total of 1,11,544 students scored above 90%, while 24,867 achieved over 95% marks.

Transgender candidates recorded a 100% pass rate this year, a significant jump from last year's 50%. However, more than 1.29 lakh students have been placed in the compartment category, indicating areas for academic support and intervention.
