Srinagar, Sept. 15 -- Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) has arrested a fraudster for duping people of more than rs50 lakh by impersonating a Duty Officer to the Lieutenant Governor and offering fake government jobs and land allotments.

The accused has been identified as Abdul Majid Mir, son of Abdul Rahim Mir, a resident of Lishtiyal in Kupwara. He was apprehended in connection with FIR No. 10/2025 registered at the Economic Offences Wing of CBK.

According to investigators, Mir lured unsuspecting victims with promises of jobs in government departments and land in SDA Colony, Bemina.
