Jammu Tawi, March 5 -- In a major boost to pilgrims, the Government on Wednesday approved the construction of two ropeways from Sonprayag to Kedarnath (12.9 km long) and from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib Ji (12.4 km long) to be built at a cost of Rs 4,081.28 crore and Rs 2,730.13 crore respectively.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), Chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the construction of two ropeways and both the projects will be developed on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) mode at a total capital cost of Rs. 4,081.28 crore and Rs 2.730.13 crore respectively, I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told media after the meeting.
