India, Dec. 31 -- The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment, posting and in-situ upgradation of 40 senior officers to key positions across various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, according to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

As per the notification issued by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet and accessed by news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC), several IAS, IPS, IRS and other senior service officers have been appointed as Special Secretaries, Additional Secretaries, Directors General and Chairpersons, with vacant posts upgraded wherever required.
