Jammu, Dec. 17 -- Following a recent encounter in Udhampur's Majalta area, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Jammu-Samba-Kathua range, Shiv Kumar Sharma on Wednesday reviewed the security situation in border districts of Kathua and Samba.

According to the details available, the DIG accompanied by SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma and SSP Samba Varinder Manhas, visited Billawar area in Kathua district, which shares border with Majalta of Udhampur where a policeman was killed in a gunfight with terrorists in Soan area on Monday evening.

An official said that he also visited Kamla Top in Billawar and reviewed security arrangements. The DIG directed officials to remain extra vigilant and deploy additional forces in sensitive areas.
