India, Jan. 14 -- Indian Army troops opened fire on a suspected Pakistani drone after it was detected during routine surveillance along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district on Tuesday evening.

Official sources said that drone was spotted hovering over forward areas, following which alert troops fired at it as a precautionary measure, they said.

Security forces have stepped up surveillance along the LoC in view of repeated attempts of drone intrusions from across the border, they said.
