Srinagar, Oct. 15 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, led by Altaf Bukhari, today expelled its Chief Spokesperson, Muntazir Mohiuddin, from the party's basic membership with immediate effect.

The party expelled Muntazir a day after he announced his decision to contest the upcoming Budgam bypoll as an independent candidate.

The action by the party was taken against Muntzir during a meeting of the party's Parliamentary Affairs Committee (PAC) held at the party headquarters in Srinagar under the chairmanship of Mohammad Dilawar Mir.
