India, Jan. 8 -- In a move aimed at ensuring transparency and regional balance, the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Jammu and Kashmir, has ordered fresh trial matches for 48 Under-14 cricketers shortlisted from the Jammu and Srinagar divisions.
The decision follows recommendations made by a five-member committee constituted by DYSS after controversy arose over the selection of the J&K Under-14 cricket team. The issue surfaced after the Inter-District UT-level Under-14 Cricket League trials were conducted between January 10 and January 12, 2026.
