Jammu Tawi, March 20 -- The security forces recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Bandipora-Srinagar highway in north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Wednesday.

An official said that the IED was found near Sunset Point along the highway during a routine patrol by the Army.

After recovering the IED, the security personnel secured the area and carried out controlled disposal of the device, he said.

In a statement, the Army said that Chinar Warriors, in a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir Police, recovered and destroyed the IED on the Bandipora-Srinagar Road near Aragam. The statement further said that the device was safely neutralised.
