New Delhi, Feb. 16 -- At least 15 passengers, including three children, were killed and many more injured in a stampede at the New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday evening, an official said.
However, there is no official confirmation from the Railway Ministry on the figure of casualties in the incident that occurred at around 9:55 pm due to heavy rush.
The Ministry has also ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident and announced to run four special trains for Prayagraj Maha Kumbh.
Reports suggested that overcrowding due to train services for the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj triggered chaos on platform numbers 14 and 15, which led to the situation.
