Jammu Tawi, March 25 -- The Jammu & Kashmir government on Monday revealed that the 2024 Assembly elections cost the state exchequer Rs 155 crore.



In reply to a cut motion raised by MLA Kupwara Mir Muhammad Fayaz, as per news agency-, Minister in- charge of the Election Department, Javaid Ahmad Dar, informed the Assembly that Rs 155 expenditure crore was incurred on conducting the 2024 Assembly elections, which was held after six year direct central rule. He further said the release of funds to clear liabilities from the recent elections is under active consideration by the Government.
