Srinagar, May 20 -- Security forces arrested two suspected individuals in southKashmir's Shopian district and recovered arms and ammunition, police said on Monday.

They said the two were arrested at a checkpoint set up by the J&K police's Special Operations Group (SOG) Shopian, the 178 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the 34 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Army.

Upon their search, four hand grenades, two pistols, 43 live rounds, and other incriminating materials were recovered, police said.

In a post on X, police said an FIR has been registered.
