Nigeria, Jan. 8 -- The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has waved off claims that some of its members were sidelined in the ongoing e-membership registration exercise, describing the allegations as much ado about nothing.
The controversy erupted after leaders of the Jajiyya political movement within the party accused the APC leadership of locking out their members from the digital registration process.
However, speaking at a press briefing in Gusau on Thursday, the party's Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris, dismissed the accusation as a red herring meant to stir unnecessary dust.
Idris insisted that the allegations were groundless and calculated to divert attention from the smooth conduct of the exercise.
