Nigeria, Nov. 3 -- Angry youths in Bida, Niger State, reportedly attacked the convoy of Governor Umar Bago on Sunday after a cash-sharing promise allegedly favoured only a few people.
The incident, which followed an earlier pledge by the governor to distribute money ahead of the local government elections, saw the mob hurl stones and sachet water at the convoy, damaging several vehicles.
Abubakar Mustapha, Chairman of the New Niger Development Project, sustained injuries and was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Bida. The youths also destroyed APC and campaign billboards, accusing the governor of neglect and broken promises.
