Nigeria, Feb. 18 -- Retired Brig.-Gen. Dahiru Abdussalam, Security Adviser to Gov. Mai Mala Buni, revealed this after Wednesday's monthly security huddle in Damaturu.

Abdussalam said the State Security Council had scanned the horizon for threats and decided to beef up preventive measures across the state throughout the fasting month.

"The council assessed emerging threats and adopted strategies to forestall criminal activities, especially during late-night prayers," he noted.
