Nigeria, July 25 -- Former federal lawmaker, Cletus Obun, has thrown his weight behind the appointment of Nantawe Yilwatda as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), calling it a "fair and strategic" decision by the party's caucus aimed at achieving geopolitical balance.

Speaking in an interview with Arise News, monitored by The News Chronicle on Friday, Obun argued that zoning the chairmanship to Plateau State reflects the APC's firm grip on the North Central region.
