Nigeria, Nov. 20 -- The incident, which resulted in the tragic killing of a teacher and the abduction of several female students, has drawn nationwide grief and condemnation.
In a statement issued from its headquarters in Abuja, the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Aisha Garba, described the attack as heartbreaking and a painful reminder of the threats facing education in some parts of the country.
She extended the Commission's condolences to the Kebbi State Government, the Kebbi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and the people of Kebbi State, noting that UBEC shares in their pain, their fear, and their hope.
