Nigeria, April 30 -- Telecommunications companies have refuted claims of seeking a tariff hike, instead, advocating for a shift towards a cost-reflective pricing model.

The call for this shift stems from a desire for autonomy to adjust prices in accordance with operational costs, as emphasized by the Chairman of the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), Gbenga Adebayo.

He underscored that the objective is sustainability rather than short-term gains.
