Nigeria, March 16 -- The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), below college level, might tell all teachers in troubled states to stop working unless the government acts quickly to rescue the students and teachers who were kidnapped recently.

Dr. Mike Ene, a leader in NUT, said this in an interview with Newsmen recently.

He said that teachers in some states in the north, like Borno, Sokoto, Kaduna, and Plateau, are scared to go to school because they don't know if they or their students will be attacked or kidnapped while they're at school.

Dr. Ene said that because of this, NUT is going to have a quick meeting next week to talk about what teachers in these states should do if the government doesn't rescue them and their students.
