Nigeria, Jan. 6 -- A suspected Boko Haram terrorist has been arrested at Kasuwan Shanu Junction in Maiduguri, Borno State, after being identified while allegedly disguising himself in army-style attire.

Security sources said the suspect was apprehended while riding a motorcycle in the area. During the arrest, a few rounds of light firearms were discharged, but no casualties were recorded.

According to the source, the suspect was identified by a repentant Boko Haram member, who claimed to know him as an active member of the terrorist group.

Security agencies have since taken the suspect into custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine his identity, role, and possible links to other members of the group.
