Nigeria, Jan. 29 -- Super Eagles and Fulham winger Samuel Chukwueze is in mourning following the passing of his mother, Mrs. Sarah Chukwueze, after a brief illness.

The heartbreaking news was shared by his brother, Chukwueze David, who posted emotional tributes on Instagram honoring their late mother. Details of her illness have not been disclosed.

The loss comes just two days after Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi suffered the tragic death of his father in a road accident in Delta State, marking a sorrowful week for Nigerian football.
