Nigeria, Feb. 18 -- The directive, announced by the board's Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Sulaiman, affects facilities commonly known as gala houses as well as Disc Jockey (DJ) operators under the board's regulatory jurisdiction.

According to the statement, the order takes effect from 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, and will remain in force until the end of Ramadan.

"All such venues will remain closed throughout the holy month," Sulaiman said, noting that the measure is intended to allow Muslim faithful observe the fast "without distractions."
