Nigeria, Nov. 14 -- The Anambra State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has reaffirmed its unwavering position rejecting any form of tenure elongation for national officers of the Council, as well as any attempt to amend the constitutionally recognised age bracket for youth membership.



Recall that the leadership of the NYCN in Anambra State had, earlier in September 2025, publicly rejected the proposed Tenure Elongation Congress slated for Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The congress, which eventually held on Sunday, 20th September 2025, sought to expand the official age bracket of youths within the NYCN from the statutory 18-35 years to 45 years, contrary to existing legislation and established norms.
