Nigeria, Feb. 4 -- Eyewitnesses said the attackers invaded the community in large numbers, causing panic as residents fled for safety.

Several homes and vehicles were reportedly destroyed during the assault, while the exact number of casualties remains unclear as of the time of filing this report.

The attack comes despite a recent peace deal and surrender agreement reportedly reached between stakeholders in Faskari LGA and armed bandit groups, raising fresh concerns over the effectiveness of such agreements and the safety of rural communities.

As of press time, there has been no official statement from security agencies, but residents say immediate intervention is critical to avert a worsening humanitarian situation.
