Nigerian Army Kills ISWAP Leader Responsible for Recruiting Child Suicide Bombers in Borno
Nigeria, May 16 -- Nigerian Army have killed Mallam Muhammad, a commander of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) responsible for Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED), in Sambisa Forest, Borno State.
The troops shot Muhammad on May 14, 2024 during a raid on the insurgents' hideouts in Ukuba and Njimia, located in the Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to the Army, Muhammad operated a major fabrication workshop where he made various types of improvised explosive devices, including Person-Borne IEDs (PBIED), Vehicle-Borne IEDs (VBIED), and Roadside IEDs (RSBIED).
