Nigeria, April 7 -- In a bold move that could elevate the nation's profile on the global sports stage, the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has confirmed that Nigeria has officially met the deadline to express interest in bidding for the 2030 Commonwealth Games, with Abuja as the proposed host city.
The announcement was made on Monday by NOC's Public Relations Officer, Tony Nezianya, in a statement issued in Lagos.
Following a key executive meeting held in Abuja on April 3, NOC revealed that it had successfully submitted its expression of interest by the March 28 deadline.
