Nigeria, Jan. 21 -- The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), has disclosed that the agency arrested 77,792 suspected drug traffickers, including 128 identified drug barons, over the past five years.

Marwa also revealed that the agency secured 14,225 convictions and seized more than 14.8 million kilogrammes of assorted illicit substances within the same period.

He made this known on Tuesday at the 11th NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer Awards and Commendation Ceremony held at the agency's national headquarters in Abuja.
