Nigeria, Jan. 29 -- The Federal Government, through the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has suspended Max Air's operations following a tyre burst incident involving a B734 aircraft (5N-MBD) on landing at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano on Tuesday night.

Though all 53 passengers were safely evacuated, the runway was reopened hours later. This marks the third incident involving Max Air in three months.

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) is investigating the occurrence, while the NCAA announced a three-month suspension of Max Air's domestic flights starting January 31, 2025, to allow internal appraisal and regulatory audits.
