Nigeria, Nov. 21 -- An Area Court in Centre-Igboro, Ilorin, on Friday brought the troubled union between Mujidat Adepoju and AbdulRasheed Ibrahim to an abrupt end, following allegations of brutality, neglect, and infidelity.
Presiding over the matter, Judge Idris Etsu ruled that the husband's acceptance of the split left no reason to prolong the case.
He dissolved the Islamic marriage and directed the petitioner to complete a three-month iddah (waiting period) before entering any new union.
Earlier, Mujidat told the court she had reached her breaking point after enduring repeated assaults, constant threats of being thrown out, months-long abandonment, and serial unfaithfulness.
