Nigeria, Jan. 7 -- The Anambra State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has debunked insinuations that the exit of its 2023 presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, from the party, would undermine the party's strength in the state.

The state chapter's leadership is insisting that the LP remains solid, united and well-positioned for the 2027 general elections.

The party's position was contained in a press statement issued by the Anambra State Chairman of the Labour Party, Comrade Peter Okoye, following Obi's defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on December 31, 2025.
