Nigeria, July 31 -- Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the party's "lack of potency and capacity" to rescue Nigeria from its current political and governance crises.
In a resignation letter shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Melaye declared an immediate withdrawal from all party activities, stating: "I hereby tender my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party at all levels of involvement."
Melaye, who was the PDP's governorship candidate in Kogi State in 2023, said his decision followed deep reflection on the party's trajectory, accusing the party of failing to offer credible leadership or deliver good governance to Nigerians.
