Nigeria, Nov. 19 -- Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, says the worst days of the Boko Haram insurgency are now behind the state, even though there has been a recent rise in attacks.
He made this statement on Wednesday during a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Shuaibu Waidi, in Maiduguri.
Governor Zulum explained that although there have been fresh attacks on communities and security personnel, the situation is still far better than the peak of the crisis years ago.
He said the security challenges today are less severe compared to the intense violence the state once suffered.
