Nigeria, Jan. 7 -- Petrol prices across Nigeria could fall further in the coming weeks as independent marketers move to slash the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to as low as N739 per litre nationwide.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) says its members have been promised direct fuel supply from Dangote Refinery at N699 per litre, a move expected to significantly narrow the price gap in the downstream sector.

IPMAN President, Abubakar Maigandi, disclosed this on Monday, saying the direct sales arrangement is scheduled to commence this January.
