Nigeria, Dec. 18 -- A 22-year-old woman was on Thursday hauled before a Grade A Customary Court sitting at Mapo, Ibadan, over an alleged firewood-and-charcoal raid that prosecutors say went on for months.
We gathered that the defendant, Tawa Lukman, whose address was not provided, is facing charges linked to stealing.
She pleaded not guilty, setting the stage for a legal battle.
Prosecuting counsel, Insp. Ayodele Ayeni, told the court that Lukman allegedly carried out the offence between July 4 and Nov. 23 at Bode Market, Ibadan.
According to him, the defendant made away with 62 bags of charcoal valued at N62,700, firewood worth N543,600, 12 big charcoal pots valued at N30,000, and 11 small pots put at N22,000.
