Nigeria, Jan. 30 -- The Federal Government has approved the construction of a N1 trillion Metropolitan Rail Service in Kano State, marking a major step toward transforming urban transportation and boosting economic growth in the state.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the approval while addressing members of the Kano State contingent who participated in the 2025 National Qur'anic Recitation Competition held in Borno State on Thursday evening.
According to the governor, the rail project is designed to overhaul the metropolitan transport system, reduce traffic congestion, and provide a modern, efficient, and affordable mass transit option for residents.
