Nigeria, March 20 -- A coalition of Civil Society Organizations, human rights advocates, legal practitioners, and pro-democracy actors has condemned in strong terms what it termed 'the unconstitutional actions of the Federal Government in Rivers State,' as announced on Tuesday by President Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu announced Tuesday evening the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, imposed a State of Emergency in the state, and installed a sole administrator to oversee the state's affairs.
