Nigeria, May 4 -- The Borno State government has restated its ban on motorcycle usage across the state due to ongoing security concerns.

This ban, initially implemented in 2014, was aimed at curbing the activities of the Boko Haram insurgency in the State.

The state's Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Prof. Usman Tar, who informed reporters about the conclusions reached during the 4th session of the state security meeting held in Maiduguri on Friday, emphasized the council's warning against the extortion of motorists.

Furthermore, the state security meeting highlighted the importance of continuing both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches in combating insurgent activities.
