Nigeria, April 17 -- Arsenal FC knocked out UEFA Champions League holders Real Madrid after surpassing Los Blancos with a 5-1 aggregate score to reach their first semi-final since 2006.

The Italian champions also advanced following a 4-3 aggregate victory against German outfit Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.

Surprisingly, Arsenal defeated Real Madrid in front of their fans at the Santiago Bernabeu with a 2-1 scoreline. Although Bukayo Saka, who later found the back of the net in the 65th minute, had missed an early chance to put the Gunners ahead in the first half.
