NIGERIA, Dec. 9 -- Anambra State Government has revealed plans to expend the sum of 200 million for the procurement and distribution of endangered Igbo traditional fruit trees in 2026.

The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Foster Ifejiofor, made the disclosure while speaking with journalists, shortly after his Ministry's bilateral discussions with the Finance and Appropriation Committee of the Anambra State House of Assembly on the 2026 budget bill.

According to the provision, the state will procure sixty thousand Ukwa fruit trees seedlings at the cost of 1500 naira each, totaling 90 million naira.

Also, forty thousand Udala seedlings and 20,000 bitter kola seedlings will be procured at the cost of 84 million naira.
