Nigeria, Jan. 3 -- The Akran of Badagry, Aholu Menu Toyi 1, has called on traditional rulers across the country to remain steadfast as custodians of peace and unity, warning that harmony does not thrive by chance but by conscious effort.

The royal counsel was contained in a New Year message endorsed by Chief Afolabi Hunkanlin, Secretary to the Akran in Badagry, where the monarch urged residents of the ancient coastal town to keep their differences in check and their common destiny in sight.

He appealed to the various ethnic nationalities in Badagry; Awori, Egun, Weme, Wheda, Seton and others to close ranks, lean on one another and pursue collective progress for the good of the border community.
