Nigeria, Nov. 10 -- Legendary Nigerian musician 2Face says his iconic hit 'African Queen' catapulted him to international stardom but came with unexpected challenges.
"'African Queen' has been a huge blessing, but it also brought its own problems. I'm grateful for everything," he told Entertainment & Lifestyle.
The 2004 hit earned him BET, MTV Europe, and MOBO awards, making him the first African artist to achieve the feat.
Yet, controversy lingers over its authorship, with former bandmate Blackface claiming 2Face stole the song, a claim he denies.
The debate flared up again after Billboard named it the greatest Afrobeats song of all time in August 2025, proving that even after two decades, the song's legacy and drama endures.
