NIGERIA, Dec. 9 -- The 23 Brigade of the Nigerian Army has dismissed a report published by some online platforms on Monday, 8 December 2025, describing it as false and baseless.

The Brigade says the allegations made against it and its Commander are completely untrue and meant to tarnish their image and that of the Nigerian Army.

The Brigade explained that its Commander was not anywhere near the scene of the communal clash at the time of the alleged shooting.

He was participating virtually in the Chief of Army Staff's weekly operational briefing when the incident was said to have occurred.
