Nigeria, Jan. 12 -- Eleven Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters have surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in Borno State, as soldiers neutralised eight other terrorists and arrested two suspected logistics suppliers during sustained military operations across the state.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba.
According to him, the terrorists surrendered under intense military pressure along the Azir-Wajiroko axis on January 10, 2026, as part of Operation DESERT SANITY V, handing over their AK-47 rifles and assorted ammunition.
