Dhaka, Nov. 26 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said the death of legendary singer Zubin Garg was not an 'accident' but 'outright murder'.
He was speaking in the Assam Assembly on Tuesday during a discussion on the adjournment motion moved by the opposition over death of Zubin Garg.
Zubin Garg, who was in Singapore to participate in the North East India Festival (NEIF), an Indian cultural festival, died at the age of 52 while scuba diving in Singapore on September 19.
Himanta Sharma said, "After initial investigation, Assam Police has confirmed that this is not a 'death due to negligence', it is a straight murder."
