Dhaka, May 15 -- Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, has been granted bail by the High Court in a case related to the acquisition of wealth beyond known sources of income, for which she was sentenced to three years in prison.
The order was issued on Wednesday by a single bench of the High Court, presided over by Justice Md Khasruzzaman.
At the same time, the court has accepted Zubaida Rahman's appeal for hearing against the conviction.
Senior lawyers SM Shahjahan, Mahbub Uddin Khokon, and Barrister Kaiser Kamal represented her in court, while lawyer Asif Hasan appeared on behalf of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
