Dhaka, July 22 -- Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Khulna University (KU) Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim today underscored the importance of early detection of cancer, terming it a deadly disease with costly treatments."Due to a lack of awareness, most patients fail to detect cancer at an early stage, leading to immense suffering. Early diagnosis is vital for prevention and control," he said while addressing a cancer awareness workshop as the chief guest at the Liaquat Ali Auditorium of KU.

The event was jointly organized by the Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (BGE) Discipline of Khulna University, Bangladesh National Commission for UNESCO (BNCU), and the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Dhaka University.
