A young man was stabbed to death in Hossainpur Upazila of Kishoreganj on Tuesday evening for obstructing drug consumption.
The deceased, Md. Ramel Miah (20), was the son of Md. Rafiqul Islam of Jinari village in Hossionpur Upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hossionpur Police Station, Maruf Hossain, confirmed the incident. Md. Ramel died while undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night.
According to police and eyewitnesses, a few days ago, Ramel, who was a drug user, posted a status on Facebook urging Naeem, son of Lal Miah from Tentulia village in Hossionpur Upazila, not to consume drugs. This led to a dispute between them.
