Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a long-term respiratory disease, is now the third leading cause of death in the world.
At least 20 million people in Bangladesh suffer from COPD, which is about 12.5 percent of adults.
Experts say that it is possible to keep the disease under control with timely diagnosis, smoking cessation, pollution reduction, regular check-ups, and pulmonary rehabilitation Program.
