Dhaka, May 4 -- Parveen, a woman injured in a gas fire in Gazipur's Bason Thana, has died from her burn injuries, a day after her son Ayan also succumbed to his wounds. The death toll from the incident now stands at four.

30am on Sunday at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka, said Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the emergency department. Parveen had suffered burns to 32 percent of her body.

The fire broke out on April 27 during cooking in a home in the Mogorkhal area. A total of five people were rushed to the burn institute around 10:30pm that night.

Seema, one of the victims, died the next day. Another woman, Taslima, died on April 29. Parveen's son Ayan passed away on Saturday morning.
