Dhaka, July 18 -- BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed has raised questions about who is daring to challenge the power of a mass uprising and where they are getting the courage to do so.
"We organized the July mass uprising for the sake of democracy," Salahuddin said. "But now, what we are witnessing across the country is the reign of mobocracy. We wanted democracy, but it is turning into mobocracy. Why is this happening?"
Salahuddin's remarks reflect the BNP's growing concern over the current political atmosphere, as the party accuses ruling forces of undermining democratic movements and suppressing opposition voices.
